Today's Artist Spotlight
Welcome back to the Mark Ransom art blog. Mark focussed on comtemporary art that moves people, creates dialogue and evokes emotion. In today's artist spotlight, we showcase an exciting artist by the name of Alexander Calder. The works below are from the 1970's but have a modern day appeal.
Calder revolutionized modern art through his innovative three-dimensional kinetic sculptures, which were famously dubbed “mobiles” by Marcel Duchamp. Drawing inspiration from Futurism, Constructivism, and early non-objective painting, Calder’s mobiles feature vibrant, abstract shapes crafted from industrial materials, delicately suspended in harmonious balance.
